After more than a year of planning and assessing interest, we are proud to announce the formation of a new neighborhood organization, HistoricWallingford.
We, the “Historic Wallingford” board, invite you to join us Saturday, January 6, as we share our story and vision for the future of the organization – a vision of fostering a greater understanding of our collective history and architecture through storytelling, programming, and events that will bring neighbors together. Let’s recognize Wallingford for what it is – a special place and a Seattle treasure!
Learn about our volunteer opportunities, and bring your ideas. Seattle historians Paul Dorpat (from “Seattle Now & Then”) and Tom Veith (author of “A Preliminary Sketch of Wallingford History“) will be in attendance to share wonderful and fascinating neighborhood history.
Historic Wallingford memberships are now available at www.historicwallingford.org. (Please keep in mind that our site is newly launched and still a work-in-progress). Buying your membership will help support the organization’s growth and provide free entry to upcoming events in 2018. The Launch Party is a free event. Memberships will be available to purchase at the party with check and are already available online via credit or debit card.
A membership also makes a great holiday gift. Historic Wallingford is an independent nonprofit 501(c) (3) organization.
The event will be held in room 202 of the Good Shepard Center. This is a handicap / ADA accessible building. Enter from the first floor and take the elevator up to the 2nd floor.
Feel free to pre-register for this free event below.
