Volunteer with Historic Wallingford


Directly make a positive impact in your neighborhood! Historic Wallingford has several one-time and ongoing volunteer opportunities throughout the year.

Currently, we are seeking enthusiastic individuals who are interested in helping us further our mission by serving as a:

Social Media Team Member

Flex your social media skills by helping us connect with our online communities on Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube. Work collaboratively with our Social Media Manager to share unique content featuring stories and photos of the neighborhood, share neighborhood news via reposts, and promote the organization’s activities and supporters.

Tasks may include attending a monthly meeting, basic research, taking photos, and coordinating with project teams to promote ongoing activities. Training provided. Estimated volunteer time is 6 to 8 hours a month.

Renovation Fair Team Member

Connect your neighbors with local businesses and City department staff during this free public event centered around home and garden renovation and care. We are looking for volunteers to help us design this May event from the ground up!

Tasks may include attending a monthly meeting, contacting vendors, creating and distributing marketing materials, and event set-up, Estimated total volunteer time is 10 to 12 hours.

Education & Outreach Team Member

Our newest team of volunteers is looking for additional members to work on projects that further our goal of local history education. Potential activities include partnering with local teachers and schools, expanding research and opportunities to learn about local Indigenous history, and creating a resource toolkit for property owners to restore or maintain their older homes.

Tasks may include attending a monthly meeting, conducting outreach to local schools, businesses, and organizations, creating and distributing marketing materials, researching and creating educational content, attending outreach events like the Wallingford Farmers Market and Parade, and brainstorming and executing educational activities, lectures, and events. Estimated volunteer time is 2 to 4 hours per month.

Community Ambassador

Get to know your community! Help build relationships between Historic Wallingford and other local organizations and businesses to establish partnerships for community projects, share news, and seek their input on key topics.

Tasks include attending monthly meetings, basic information gathering, occasionally visiting businesses, and communicating with community groups. This person would also hold a position on Historic Wallingford’s governing board. Estimated volunteer time is 4 to 6 hours a month.

Volunteer Manager

Show your passion for Wallingford by encouraging others to volunteer with us!

Tasks include recruiting, onboarding, and managing volunteers throughout the organization. Training and materials provided. Estimated volunteer time is 4 to 6 hours a month.

Board Member
